The Forest is Life Tuesday April 24, 2012
The forest breathes with me, breathes life into me, feels my expansion and contraction. Sister trees comfort and shelter me in all seasons.
The mountain in the north looms over my home, lending me strength and inspiration. Coyotes on its slopes gather on moonlit nights to talk to their family across the valley.
In the wetlands below, fed by a lively stream, wildlife abound – beavers, herons, migrating geese, brook trout, turtles, red-winged blackbirds, and more.
Ravens dance over the valley, mountain, and forest. In their language, they call, croak, knock, and honk to each other… and sometimes to me.
This is a place of life, and the spirits of the land have welcomed me. I feel humble in their presence, and full of power.
